hasbro is updating the board game clue (one of my favorite board games)…i’m not sure how i feel about them getting rid of the colonel and the professor.

That’s dumb. For my dollar it would be cool to reinvent it even more, adding more characters and locations on some sort of modular format.

Fastest Arkham Horror game evar

I think Alissa and I broke the record for the shortest Arkham Horror game ever last night with a 5 minute game!

We prepared the board and started the first turn. I was first player and went to the Science Building at Miskatonic University to pick up two clue tokens. In the encounter phase I drew a card.

I don’t have it in front of me but it essentially said that there was someone in the lab tinkering with a device that closed dimensional gates. Upon a successful Will check it would close each gate. Since the game had begun there was only one gate open. I rolled… and failed my Will check, but since I had 5 clue tokens now I decided to spend them to add a die to my roll… and closed the gate!

Pozy

Let’s start this off right! I just discovered Pozy today. It’s a daily deal website where they’ll have one thing on sale and when it’s gone it’s gone. Seems like a great place to get your board game fix. Today’s deal is Arkham Horror, a game where players collectively work to stop horrors of the HP Lovecraft universe from being unleashed. I’m currently obsessed with this game though I’m still waiting for my to come in the mail.
